Ottawa, November 3, 2025 - The Canadian Agricultural Human Resource Council (CAHRC) and the National Circle for Indigenous Agriculture and Food (NCIAF) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to strengthen collaboration, advance reconciliation, and support the growth of Indigenous agriculture in Canada.
CAHRC and NCIAF are strategically aligned to support the Canadian agriculture and agri-food industry through cross-promotion and mutual support.
This objective of this agreement is to foster collaboration between CAHRC and NCIAF through cross-promotion of research, products, tools, resources and events, as well as research activities. The strategic alignment formalizes:
- Support to advance reconciliation and building bridges between Indigenous communities and other agriculture and food industry stakeholders;
 - Support to a community of partners to support Indigenous Peoples and reignite their role in agriculture and food through knowledge sharing and supporting business creation, while honouring Indigenous values, lands and Mother Earth.
 - Support the development of Indigenous agriculture and food businesses, and;
 - Support the building of Indigenous capacity for agriculture through awareness of opportunities, knowledge exchange, education and skills development.
