The Food & Farming Virtual Hackathon is a dynamic, challenge-based innovation experience that brings students, educators, entrepreneurs, and innovators together to tackle real-world problems in agriculture and food systems. Participants work collaboratively in teams to design technology-driven solutions that address pressing challenges such as food security, climate change, sustainable farming, and agri-tech innovation.

This hybrid event blends STEM learning, entrepreneurship, and social impact, empowering participants to turn ideas into actionable solutions for the future of food.

9:30-10:00 AM – Login and Get Ready

10:00-10:15 AM – Welcome and Kick-Off

10:15-10:30 AM – Presentation of Challenges by Industry Experts

  • Challenge 1: Sustainable & Climate-Resilient Farming
  • Challenge 2: Food Security & Local Food Systems
  • Challenge 3: AgriTech & Automation
  • Challenge 4: Water, Soil Health & Resource Management
  • Challenge 5: Urban, Indoor & Vertical Farming
  • Challenge 6: Data, AI & Smart Farming Solutions 

10:30-12:30 PM – Teams work on their solution

12:30-1:30 PM – Lunch Break

1:30-2:10 PM – HIGH SCHOOL TEAM PITCHES (10 minutes per team)

2:10-3:30 PM – ALL OTHER PITCHES (10 minutes per team)

3:30-3:45 PM – Short Break

3:45-4:00 PM – Announcement of Winners
