The objectives of the Supporting the Advancement of Women in Agriculture (SAWA) project are to examine and address critical barriers to advancement facing women in the industry, as well as develop and implement a strategic program to support improved access to leadership opportunities. Ultimately, the intended goal is to strengthen business success for women working in agriculture. This report focuses on assessing the specific needs required to help address the issues contributing to the critical barriers. The research presented here will identify the most critical barriers to advancement of women in the industry along with support recommendations for next steps to address these barriers.
