CAHRC Annual Report

2013-2014

Message from CAHRC

The past year provided many challenges for CAHRC, however we successfully navigated the changes. While the agriculture industry continues to face mounting HR challenges, CAHRC has persevered through major funding changes and delays in project approvals.

Despite these set-backs our team has been able to remain focused and committed to serving the industry with practical tools and services while launching additional research projects which will carry us forward.

We are pleased to have secured multi-year funding and developed strategies in place to complete our transition and meet the long-term needs of the industry we so proudly serve. We have begun to develop new approaches that will serve us well for years to come. We are confident about the future.

Closing Message

With a solid foundation in place, CAHRC is looking forward to building on our past and present initiatives as we reposition the delivery of agricultural HR tools to help Canadian producers strategically plan and manage for success. The Council’s transition toward a self-sustaining model has strengthened our strategic partnerships and collaboration within the industry thus creating a thriving and reciprocal alliance for agricultural human resource management and skills development.

The Council continues to focus on the delivery of human resource management and skills development to ensure a qualified labour market is prepared and available to support all aspects of primary production across Canada. CAHRC is looking forward to further engaging more directly with producers as we establish ourselves as the leading authority on ag HR in Canada, being the centre for reliable agriculture research such as Labour Market Information and the access point for customizable solutions related to HR management and training.
